A structured diagnostic on the load-bearing capacity of a federal advocacy program.

The Influence Architecture Assessment

Twenty-four questions on how your program actually moves institutions.

The assessment scores an advocacy program across the eight systems of Influence Architecture. It does not measure enthusiasm, spend, or access. It measures whether the structure underneath a campaign will hold when the fight becomes contested.

About eight minutes. Twenty-four questions, three per system.

What it returns

Each system is scored on a 1.0 to 5.0 scale, and the eight scores average into a composite. The composite places the program in one of five maturity bands, and the results screen names the three weakest systems, which is where a contested fight is most likely to fail.

The eight systems

Three questions each
  1. System 1

    Legislative Pathway Architecture

Whether the program knows the specific vehicle, committee, and sequence that carries its ask.

  2. System 2

    Political Risk and Opposition Analysis

Whether objections and opponents are mapped before they surface in a hearing room.

  3. System 3

    Narrative Control and Message Discipline

Whether the same argument survives the trip from your office to the twentieth meeting.

  4. System 4

    Direct Lobbying Execution

Whether meetings produce commitments and records rather than pleasant conversation.

  5. System 5

    Grasstops and Validator Engagement

Whether the voices a member actually trusts are engaged, and on request.

  6. System 6

    Coalition Activation and Governance

Whether the coalition is a decision-making body or a list of logos on a letter.

  7. System 7

    Integrated Advocacy Campaigns

Whether lobbying, communications, grassroots, and research move as one instrument.

  8. System 8

    Strategic Communications and Timing

Whether pressure lands when the institution can move, not when you are ready.
